About Me

Originating from the picturesque town of Bega in New South Wales, Melbourne-based artist Sitka Bloom draws inspiration from the intricate guitar work of legends like Tony Rice and Bryan Sutton, as well as the innovative sounds of Mighty Poplar and Nickel Creek. He creates a rich tapestry of sound that marries tradition with a fresh perspective.

A dedicated guitarist since the age of 11, Sitka Bloom experienced a transformative resurgence of his passion for folk and bluegrass in 2024. This rekindled love sparked a journey of self-discovery, prompting him to immerse himself in intensive practice and exploration of his musical roots. By the end of 2024, he felt compelled to embrace this new chapter fully, adopting the name Sitka Bloom to symbolise his artistic rebirth.

The name “Sitka” references the sought-after wood often used for acoustic guitar tops, a nod to his craft, while “Bloom” signifies a fresh start and the flourishing of his creative spirit. Together, these elements reflect his commitment to evolving as an artist and his deep connection to the sounds that inspire him.
